Join local rangers at the middle-class cabin at New Echota Historic Site for a cooking demonstration of traditional fire-based meat preservation techniques used by the Cherokee Nation in the 1830s. Discover how the Cherokee people preserved meat over open fires and utilized various cooking techniques before and after their removal along the Trail of Tears.

An admission fee is required.
